Leading industrialist Ratan Tata and TRAI Chairman RS Sharma’s Twitter account were hacked by some unknown persons on Saturday. When they came to know about the happening the account was restored.
“Stunned that my Twitter account was hacked yesterday (on Friday) and a spurious malicious tweet was wrongly attributed to me. This spurious tweet has now been deleted and my Twitter account restored. I regret the inconvenience that this malicious and wrongful action may have caused,” Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus said in a tweet on Saturday.
From Ratan Tata’s account a tweet was released by parody account @realhistorypic which were displaying Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi together with the caption: “Owner of Network 18 welcoming his employee to address people how (sic) cronies are going to halt inflation”. Also, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was also marked on those tweets.
Ratan Tata had joined Twitter in April 2011 and currently he has 6.13 million followers on Twitter and has tweeted only 119 times.
“I like dum ways to die because it is most funny,” one of the tweets posted from Sharma’s account said.
“This is to inform that the Twitter handle of the TRAI chairman has been hacked and absurd posts are being put out. Please ignore indecent messages being put out from his handle,” a TRAI official said.
