Indian Wrestler Sushil Kumar nominated for Padma Bhushan


On Tuesday reports conveys that, wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has suggested star wrestler Sushil Kumar's name to the Sports Ministry for Padma Bhushan. Sushil had formerly been suggested for the award previous year, but only his father-in-law and mentor, Satpal Singh was honored with the prestigious award on January 26th.

Sushil Kumar was concerned in a legal battle with Narsingh Yadav, for the contribution berth in the Olympics in the 74Kg group which was lastly won by Narsingh Yadav. On Tuesday associations between Sushil and the alliance turned sour due to this matter, but one of WFI's top representatives, exposed that they have processed his name for the honour. It's been some time as Sushil functional for the Padma Bhushan.

His request was processed instantaneously, the day his coach Yashvir came up with the application. WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh gave his go-ahead and the federation has suggested his name for the prestigious award. According to the sources, WFI has also forwarded the names of Sushil’s coach and Dronacharya awardee Yashvir Singh and female wrestler Alka Tomar's name for Padma Shri.

Furthermore, 15-time World billiards and snooker champion Pankaj Advani is also between the suggested lists of sports persons for Padma Bhushan. Shooter Jitu Rai and table tennis player Achanta Sharath Kamal have also been suggested for Padma Shri.
