Indian Women Cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues has been chosen in the 16-member team for ODI against South Africa. The decision was taken on Wednesday by Board of Control for Cricket in India. The matches will be held on February 5, 7 and 10.
Captain Mithali Raj will head the team whereas Harmanpreet Kaur persists to be her deputy head. BCCI took decision on Sunday to select wicketkeeper Taniya Bhatia instead of Nuzhat Parween.
Jemimah Rodrigues clinched 202 during Inter-State women’s Under-19 one-day series against Saurashtra. She showed her terrific performance in Under-19 tournament subsequent to Smriti Mandhana.
MP All-Rounder Pooja Vastrakar will play in place of pacer Mansi Joshi as she had undergone knee injury recently.
The squad will take part in a warm-up match that will be held in Bloemfontein on February 2 ahead of playing the initial two ODIs in Kimberley. The final match of tournament will be held in Potchefstroom. Later, Indian Team will play their five Twenty20 International series.
