New Delhi: Indian Tennis Player Sania Mirza has finished her 80 consecutive weeks as the World No. 1 doubles player on Tuesday.
On the Twitter handle, Sania Mirza confirmed this news.
After winning the Volvo Car Open with her former partner Martina Hingis, she became the first Indian woman to hold the No.1 ranking. Sania affirmed, “Anything was possible if an athlete was committed towards excellence.”
"Anything is possible. If you put your mind to it, you put sacrifices to it, you put hard work to it, anything is possible, no matter where you're from. Even if that means you've grown up playing on courts made of cow dung. And I think for me that's women empowerment, and I hope that we get there one day where women believe that anything is possible," she alleged.

In august this year, Sania Mirza was hollowed against the Swiss in the last of Cincinnati Open.
With her new accomplice Barbora Strycova, Sania encouraged from being 5-1 down in the principal set against Hingis and Coco Vandeweghe of USA, to win 7-5, 6-4 and secure the Cincinnati Open title in Cincinnati, Ohio.
With the win, Sania held her main status on the ladies' pairs positioning as Hingis slipped to the second spot.
