MUMBAI: On Sunday the Indian Rupee softens 6 paise to 66.83 next to the US dollar in early buy and sell at the Interbank Foreign Exchange following fresh demand for the American currency from banks and importers. Forex dealers have also further conveyed that, though the US dollar's increases alongside some currencies overseas on strong jobs data put the rupee on the backfoot.
Though, a superior commencing of the domestic equity market capped the rupee's losses. On Friday the rupee had strengthened additional by 14 paise to finish at 66.77 next to the US currency on the back of sustained dollar selling by exporters amid weak overseas signals. For now, the benchmark BSE Sensex increase further by 136.83 points, or 0.48 per cent, to 28,215.18 in early buy and sell.
