Indian Rupee opens down 5 paise at 67.12 against US Dollar


Mumbai: At present in the early buy and sell Indian Rupee was trading subordinate by 5 paise at 67.12 next to the US dollar at the Interbank Foreign Exchange on augmented demand for the American currency from importers and banks.

Traders accredited the rupee's fall to augmented demand for the US currency, but dollar's weakness next to some currencies overseas and a superior commencing in household equity market restricted the decrease. On Friday, the rupee had declined 16 paise to 67.07 a dollar on fresh demand for the US currency from banks and importers amid fall in domestic equities. For now, the BSE Sensex recovered by 146.93 points or 0.52 per cent to 27,983.43 in near the beginning deals.
