MUMBAI: On Friday the Indian Rupee drops15 paise to 66.96 next to the US dollar in early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange following augmented demand for the American currency from banks and importers.
Forex dealers have also further conveyed that, though the US dollar's climbs against some currencies overseas put the rupee on the backfoot. However, a superior commencing of the domestic equity market capped the rupee's losses.
On Thursday the rupee had lost 5 paise to conclude at 66.81 per dollar on fresh demand from banks and importers for the US currency despite firm domestic equity markets.
For now, the benchmarks BSE Sensex increasers further by 88.86 points or 0.31 per cent to 28,212.30 in early buy and sell.
