New Delhi: Indian Railway is going to provide confirm and Reservation against Cancellation tickets to the passengers from July 1. The online customers will not be offered waiting list tickets.
With confirmed or RAC tickets, the passengers could safely board their particular trains. From July 1, Railways will also issue paperless tickets for premium services like Shatabdi, Rajdhani, Duronto Express, etc. The numbers of coaches in these trains have also been improved in order to provide confirmed seats to more number of passengers.
Passengers cancelling their tickets would be charged half the amount of fare. The fine would be compulsory even if the cancellation is done instantly after booking the seat. The changes will come into effect from July 1.
Railway Ministry has also decided that those seeking to book the entire coach, can book the same for Rs 50,000 for 7 days. Similarly, the entire train can be reserved by paying Rs 9 lakhs.
