India player Shikhar Dhawan is likely to miss first three One Day Internationals (ODIs) matches over Australia because of his wife’s sickness. On Thursday, this decision was announced by Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI).
Till now, BCCI has not taken decision for any substitute of Shikhar Dhawan.
“Team India opener Mr Shikhar Dhawan has requested to be released from the team for the first three ODIs of the Paytm Australia tour of India, 2017 to attend to his wife, who is unwell. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has decided not to name any replacement for Mr Dhawan in Indian Cricket Team,” BCCI stated.
Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan had not played in the concluding ODI as well as Twenty20 International (T20I) match over Sri Lanka after he arrived to India to look out his sick mother.
The first match between India and Australia will be held at series at MA Chidambaram Stadium on September 17 in Chennai. While, the second ODI over Australia will take place at the Eden Gardens.
The rest of the ODI matches will take place at Indore, Bengaluru and Nagpur, on the other hand, the T20Is will be take place in Ranchi, Guwahati as well as Hyderabad.
