Jamaica: Indian Cricketer KL Rahul showcased his outstanding performance on the second day of the second Test against West Indies in Jamaica which was held on Sunday.
In every overseas series, KL Rahul has scored a ton. In 2014, he scored 110 against Australia while in 2015 he scored 108 against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Once again he has proved himself.
Rahul scored a century on Sunday against West Indies. He took 182 balls to reach the three-figure mark. On the second day of the match, he increased the momentum slowly. On the ball of Shane Dowrich, he got out for score of 158.
Rahul said, “I tried to keep things simple. I've been in good form for the last 3-4 months. I've been moving well, and hitting the ball really well."
Rahul asserted that, "I've been consistent and that's what I want to do as a cricketer, to be consistent in all the three formats. I want to play to the best of my abilities and play my roles and responsibilities for the team. Right now I'm in a good space and the focus levels have been great”
In the maiden Test innings against West Indies, KL Rahul is the only Indian cricketer who has made a highest score. Earlier, Polly Umrigar was the player who scored 130 in 1952-53 series. Overall, he is the fifth Indian player to score a century in his maiden Test innings in WI.
After Mohammed Azharuddin, he is only the second Indian player to convert his first three fifties into centuries.
Few days back, Player Murali Vijay was replaced by KL Rahul due the injury in the finger.
