On Wednesday, Virat Kohli disclosed that they are currently looking to reinforce the number four position and believes that Ajinkya Rahane is a tough candidate.

“We had stated prior that Rahane will play in third position as a third opener but that condition can alter as he has batted at No. 4 in a World Cup earlier. These situations are like that you receive to play fast bowling all through the tournament so he becomes a well-built candidate for No. 4. Apart from him, we have Shreyas (Iyer), Manish (Pandey), Hardik (Pandya), MS (Dhoni). We have set aside all these alternatives open, we don’t need to be one-dimensional. It depends whose skill is more apt to what position,” Virat Kohli affirmed.

Virat Kohli claimed that they have received amazing players for 2019’s World Cup. The matches will be held from May 30 to July 15 next year in England.

“I hope the core of our cricketers is more or less pretty powerful at the moment. Apparently alteration can occur at any moment. You don’t know if someone is going to be in form or not or what the squad needs at some point. How I see it, more or less the core is found,” Kohli added.
