India Could remove South Africa in ODI Rankings If They Sweep Sri Lanka Clean

Dubai: The Indian team will be aiming to win 3-0 in the one-day series starting with Sri Lanka tomorrow. This could help the Indians to secure first place by removing South Africa from the top spot of ICC ODI Team Rankings.

The Indian team is at the top of Test cricket with 120 points from ODI rankings. It is just behind one point from South Africa and if it wins the first match at Dharamsala tomorrow, it will take a lead against South Africa. 

If India makes a 1-0 lead in the series, then it will secure 121 points with the decimal point increase. But for this, Indian team will have to win in the next matches that will be held on December 13 in Mohali and December 17 in Visakhapatnam.

Currently, Sri Lankan team is on the eighth position with 83 points in the tally table. If India wins the ODI series 2-1, then it will get 119 points. If the eighth ranked team loses 0-3, then they will stay on 83 points but if they win by 3-0 then they will get 87 points.
