India is all set to celebrate Lord Krishna’s birthday tomorrow. Temples of Vrindavan are ready to celebrate Janmashtami in a grand way.
Janmashtami is recognized as Gokulashtami or Krishna Janmashtami. On this day the birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated. This day, Lord krishna, the Hindu deity took the eighth avatar of Vishnu. This festival is celebrated on the eighth day of Krishna Paksha which falls on the Bhadrapad month according to the Hindu calendar.
On this auspicious day, Lord Krishna were born in 18 July 3228 BCE and hence, Janmashtami signifies the good and destroying the evil. According to Hindu calendar this festival is celebrated on the 8th day of Ashtami of Krishna Paksh in the month of Bhadon of the dark fortnight. Lord Krishna, the Hindu deity is considered as the most powerful human incarnations of Lord Vishnu. It is said that he was born around 5, 200 years ago in Mathura and his sole aim was to free Earth from all evil powers.
On this day, some special events takes place at Mathura, Vrindavan which fetaures cute dramatic enactments of the life of Lord Krishna. The Rasa lila shows the other flirtatious side of Lord Krishna during his young days. Devotees celebrate Dahi Handi festival which celebrates God’s playful side wherein he used to break the pot of curd which was kept at the height. Slowly and steadily, this tradition and ritual became a major event in some parts of India.
On this day, devotees have rigorous fasting and they should only have a single meal that to on the previous day. The devotees further also take a Sankalpa which is a one-day long fast which can be broken on the next day after Rohini Nakshatra and Ashtami Tithi gets over.
People who fast on the day of Janmashtami are suppose to consume one single time meal and they are even suppose to take a Sankalpa which must be taken after finishing the entire morning rituals. Devotees have to observe one day long fast. This fast further breaks the next day after Rohini Nakshatra and Ashtami Tithi gets over that is after sunrise.
Birth of Lord Krishna was a magnificent Spiritual significance, as he was the legend who was born in the darkness inside a cell of jail as his parents were behind bars. This cruel thing was done by his own uncle. The day is full of colors, music to enhance our life in a better way.
