Indian Hockey team beat Malaysia by 2-1 on Sunday in the Asia Cup Hockey final to secure its third title.
Players Ramandeep Singh and Lalit Upadhyay showcased great performance as they scored off field goals. The opponent team also put their great efforts in the 50th minute of game when Shahril Saabah clinched a goal from the back.
Currently, India lies on sixth position among hockey game in the world. Both the teams were worried for the game but the protection did adequate to carry on.
Pakistan team clinched bronze medal after defeating Korea by 6-3 in the third-fourth place play-off match prior.
Indian team have till now won all the games apart from 1-1 draw against Korea in the Super 4 stage of tournament. In the third minute of game, India dominated the opponent team.
Player Chinglensana Singh’s back hit from close range then went broad as India washed out a great opportunity.
Malaysia achieved its first penalty corner in the 13th minute of game, though, later it was shattered.
Harmanpreet Singh was then refused by Razie Rahim as he made a goalline put aside to exclude the ex’s kick from India’s first penalty corner.
A minute before half-time, Upadhyay doubled India’s lead when he beautifully deflected home Sumit’s reverse hit cross from the left flank.
Malaysia team raised attack during the last 10 minutes. The team had a great chance to take the game into attack following it received its third penalty corner.
During the last three minutes, Malaysian team demanded goalkeeper for an extra player but the chance botched to give the preferred outcome.
