The Income Tax Department today asked citizens to link their Aadhaar with their PAN, utilizing a SMS-based office.

It said individuals can likewise visit the official efiling site of the division to connect the two identities, in both the cases- – identical names in the two databases or on the off chance that where there is a minor confound.

The Income-Tax-office had early this month propelled another e-facility to link a man’s Aadhaar with the Permanent Account Number (PAN), an obligatory method for recording I-T returns now.

The link requires a man to punch in his PAN number, Aadhaar number and the correct name as given in the Aadhaar card.

The OTP will be sent on the registered number in the Aadhaar database.
The administration, under the Finance Act 2017, has made it obligatory for citizens to cite Aadhaar or enrolment ID of Aadhaar application frame for documenting of Income-Tax returns (ITR).

While Aadhaar is issued by the UIDAI to an occupant of India, PAN is a ten-digit alphanumeric number issued as an overlaid card by the I-T office to any individual, firm or substance.
