NEW DELHI: In accordance with tax evasion case, the Income Tax department has issued notice to Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain.
The department has told him to appear before the investigation officer on October 4. He was even told by the department to reveal the personal financial details and the last four year ITRs.
Income Tax Department alleged that they had obtained records of certain financial transactions related to Jain after their partners in Kolkata as of late looked a firm regarding an assessment avoidance and affirmed illicit money related settlements case.
They said the division allegedly recuperated records identifying with a few exchanges being made by no less than three firms and had a connection to Jain.
"The notice has been issued as a feature of investigation into the case which the I-T division has been examining for at some point now. Jain will be stood up to with records seized amid quests at Kolkata," sources in the division said.
Responding to the summons, Jain said he has been summoned as a witness.
The minister said that he has done nothing incorrectly and he will show up before the Income Tax office on October 4.
"As a financial specialist, I had made interest in these organizations four year back, yet I have nothing to do with these organizations since 2013. I have done nothing incorrectly. I have just been summoned as a witness. It is just reassessment not examination," Jain told columnists here.
Boss Minister Arvind Kejriwal guaranteed Jain was being "confined", saying if Jain was "liable", he would have tossed him out.
The Chief Minister said he remains by Jain. "I summoned Satinder this morning. Saw all papers. He innocent,being framed. If he ws guilty, we wud have thrown him out.We stand by him," Kejriwal said in a tweet.
