Indian Boxer Vikas Krishan knocked out of the quarterfinal in 75 Kg last night. Vikas Krishan (75kg) said he could not have done better than what he managed against the more powerful and compact Bektemir Melikuziev of Uzbekistan. Vikas lost the match by 0-3 against Melikuziev.
“I’m really sorry to have let you down. I tried to clinch the issue in the first round. But once he took the first round, it was very difficult to come back, and I almost gave up,” said an emotional Vikas.
India could not able to achieve any medal in the Rio Olympics 2016 till now.
"I generally wanted to gain India a decoration on the Independence Day yet I fizzled. I'm sad," he said.
Vikas had anticipated an extreme battle when he set up a quarters conflict against the Uzbek when he after his pre-quarters session said, "I will come back with a gold or flat broke."
