The GATE 2017 examination will be conducted by Indian Institute of Technology from February 4 to 5 and February 11 to 12, 2017 (Saturdays and Sundays only).
The examination will be conducted for the post graduation programmes (e.g. ME, MTech, direct PhD) in Indian institutes.
HRD Minister and other government agencies will provide financial assistance to the institution. The scores may also be used by public and private sectors.
This exam is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board GATE, Department of Higher Education, MHRD, Government of India.
The aspirants must hold Bachelor’s degree in various disciplines and those who are in the final year of their graduation are also eligible to apply for GATE examination.
