Shilpa Shetty Kundra who is currently busy judging the upcoming kids' dance reality show India's Super Dancer on Sony TV, along with Anurag Basu and Geeta Kapoor, has now been offered a full-fledged role in a TV series. The show is said to be an inspirational one based on real-life incidents.
Apparently, a Mumbai-based production house thought Shilpa was perfect for the show. “It is based on real-life incidents and will feature inspirational stories,” says the source, adding that the actor is yet to go through the script and take a call. “She has been busy with her brand endorsements, entrepreneurial ventures and fitness-related projects,” says the
Shilpa will go through the script and then take a call. But apparently the actress is interested as it’s not a long-running daily saga but a limited series having just 22 episodes. Shilpa is busy with her brand endorsements, yoga training sessions, shooting for her dance reality show and being a hands-on mother to her four-year-old son Viaan Raj.
When contacted, Shilpa says that while she doesn’t mind taking on a show with limited episodes, long-running daily soaps are a no-no. “Though I admire the dedication of TV actors [in such shows], I don’t have the time for daily soaps. TV needs a lot of time and energy,” she says.
The actress is no newcomer to television. Earlier she has judged other dance reality shows such as Nach Baliye, Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa and Zara Nach Ke Dikha. In fact, Shilpa’s first brush with television occurred in 2007 when she participated and won the British reality television series Big Brother 5. This was followed by re-establishing her status in the film industry with two successful films Life In A Metro and Apne.
