Filmmaker, performing artist and artist Farhan Akhtar has collaborated with other surely understood artists Vishal Dadlani, Uday Benegal, Clinton Cerejo, Vasudha Sharma and numerous different artistes for a honorable aim. What will they be doing? They prepare to serve around half a million underprivileged Indians and Pakistanis in an initiative by The Robin Hood Army. Volunteers in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore, will belt out the track, Realign, the Mission 500k anthem, composed and sung by Farhan and the gang. “The Robin Hood Army's desire to feed half a mil lion people across India and Pakistan this year on their respective Independence Days is an effort I whole heartedly support. I appeal to people everywhere to participate in this incredible initiative to help eradicate hunger and malnutrition. It's our world. We have to make it better,” Akhtar was quoted as saying.
Having its presence across 30 cities, Robin Hood Army has 5215 volunteers – are largely young working professionals from varied fields — have fed more than six lakh people till now. The organisation works to get surplus food from restaurants to feed the underprivileged in cities of both India and Pakistan. For the first time as a part of its initiative, the Robin Hood Army is going to use social media to inspire millions to volunteer.
