Hyundai is functioning on the production prototype of a new small SUV that will below the Creta in the company's line up. Code-named QXi, the new SUV is supposed to enter the market in 2019.
Creta and Tucson has been launched by the Hyundai in the last two years in India to plug the gaps in its SUV portfolio. The QXi will be the tuff competition to the likes of Ford EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
The design of the concept vehicle that was shown at the Auto Expo differs quite a bit from Hyundai's Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy and the final car should be a little more in line with Hyundai' current design philosophy.
The QXi will in all probability utilise the existing engines that are present in Hyundai's line up of cars. When the QXi hits the Indian markets in 2019, Hyundai will have SUVs in four different categories in the market.
