Digital entertainment firm Hungama Play has tied up with Sun TV network and Maa TV to enlarge its catalogue of south Indian language movies, particularly Telugu and Tamil.
The Hungama Play, a video-on-demand provider mainly focus on South Indian markets. It has the largest Telugu catalogue in the app ecosystem.
Moreover, the agreement has been signed with Maa TV and it will raise its market to 300 Telugu films as well as future releases, the pact with Sun Network will add over 220 films across all south Indian languages.
Hungama play is mainly popular for Music streaming services. It has been six months since it started offering movies on a monthly subscription of Rs.199.
Overall, there are 7,500 movies in the catalogue, with the number of Hindi movies dominating the collection that comprises Hollywood and regional language films.
It has overall 38% content comsumption in the country, said CEO Siddharth Roy.
