HRD Ministry: Educational institutes to adopt cashless transaction


Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar, heads of board, councils associate and top ministry officials conducted meeting on Tuesday to adopt cashless transactions.

The HRD ministry is planning to persuade educational institutions to opt cashless transactions. They are trying to create awareness among public to utilize digital ways to make payments.

"All Institutions have been asked to encourage & ensure cashless transactions are done through debit/credit cards, online transfers, RTGS, cheques," Javadekar said on Twitter.

He added that, “Directions have already been given to all educational institutions to encourage and ensure cashless transactions.”

During 'Mann ki Baat', Prime Minister Narendra Modi advised the youth to teach their family members about how they should utilize mobile technology to carry out digital transactions.

PM Modi affirmed that "youths are agents of change". These drives will be implemented in Schools, NCC and NSS as well.
