Hotel receptionist committed suicide in Jaipur


A 35-year-old hotel receptionist allegedly committed suicide after jumping from the roof of his house under Sadar police headquarters area of the city late on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified by Sadar police headquarters as one Ramavtar Sharma, an occupant of Tonk who worked at a hotel in Jaipur. “He worked at a hotel in Gopal Bari, late on Thursday night he was seen jumping from the roof of his home,” Hanuman Sahai, investigation officer told to media, adding that Sharma was hurried to the hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Sharma reportedly had vomited a few times before he went on the roof and bounced. “A shopkeeper opposite his room saw him jumping from the roof. The people informed the police about the occurrence and called up an ambulance to surge him to the hospital,” included an official.

His body was given over to his relatives after the post-mortem. However, kin of expired guaranteed Sharma died under mysterious circumstances; consequently, a test must be set up to investigate his death. However, the city police said that prima facie evidence and autopsy report suggests that Sharma had committed suicide.

“We will record the announcements of his parents and other individuals who knew Sharma. As of now we suspect it to be a case of suicide. However, we will carry out a comprehensive probe into the case,” a senior official stated, including that last rites of the deceased were performed at his native town in Tonk.
