New Delhi. Finally the Japenese carmaker has presented its compact SUV BR-V in the Indian market which ranges from 8.75 lakhs – 12.90 lakh rupees (ex-showroom) in New Delhi. BVR comes with two powertrain options i.e 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol and i-DTEC diesel, combined with front- wheel drivetrain (FWD) system.
While the diesel unit is claimed to return best-in-class fuel efficiency of 21.9kmpl (ARAI –certified), the petrol mill offers 15.4kmpl (MT) and 16kmpl (AT). It features automatic climate control, audio streaming, steering-mounted audio buttons, Bluetooth telephony, push button start, electrically foldable ORVMs, LED light guides and 16- inch alloy wheels.
Interestingly, the anti-lock braking system (ABS) comes as standard on the BRV diesel, mid-range and higher petrol variants, while the dual airbag protection is set across the range.
BRV will compete with Hyundai’s Creta (Rs 8.46 lakh) and Renault’s Duster (Rs 14.5 million) in the market.
