High Alert: Heavy rainfall likely in Dehradun, Nainital


DEHRADUN:  On Tuesday an official of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) conveyed that, many parts of Uttarakhand, particularly Dehradun and Nainital, are probable to receive heavy to very heavy rains in the next 48-hours. The cloud bursts and landslides due to heavy rains have caused large scale harm and loss of lives in numerous parts of the state.

More than 50 roads in the state persist to be blocked by landslides, leading to problems for people living in some towns and villages. Roads foremost to the Chaar Dhaam – Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath – have also been hit by landslides, leading to numerous disruptions in the yearly pilgrimage that draws lakhs of people every year.
