AAP MP Bhagwant Mann alleged on Monday that investigation must be done in Parliament House videography issue.
He says that he had not violated the security which members said was a challenge as he has already tendered an unconditional apology for his act to the Speaker.
For around one and half hour, Mr. Mann was interrogated during which he maintained that he has not violated security of the high security complex.
“In a way he was not repenting… He asked for more time and said he cannot appear tomorrow. We have asked him on August 3 now,” said a panel member.
Bhagwant Mann had not made an apology in a five page letter which was released last week. However, he insisted Prime Minister too be summoned before the committee.
“We were mandated to find out whether Mann has breached security and if he has, the action which needed to be taken. The other task is to recommend how such breaches can be prevented in the future. But so far we have not touched upon this aspect as we have concentrated on Mann. We may need more time now,” said another member.
The remarks of Bhagwant Mann was considered as “contradictory and confusing” by several members. The members advised the panel that “Stringent action” must be taken against him on Wednesday.
On July 21, a video was shot by Bhagwant Mann in Parliament where he was seen giving a running commentary. “I’ll today show you something you would not have seen earlier,” he says.
