In the wake of conveying hits like "Raanjhanaa" and 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns', maker Krishika Lulla and producer Aanand L Rai are back with 'Glad Bhag Jayegi', a 'run-com' with a comical story and fascinating characters. Composed and Directed by Mudassar Aziz, it rotates around a feisty lady who flees from her wedding and grounds up in Pakistan and the perplexity that follows.
While Diana Penty plays the autonomous and sharp-tongued Harpreet Kaur otherwise known as Happy, Abhay Deol depicts Bilal Ahmed, a hesitant political beneficiary who is energetic about cricket. Jimmy Sheirgill expositions the part of a city corporator, Bagga Paaji, though Ali Fazal is Guddu, a Punjabi rock darling. The motion picture likewise includes Momal Sheik, Kanwaljeet Singh and Piyush Mishra in vital parts.
Given their penchant for unconventional subjects, Krishika and Aanand have always backed projects that are high on humour and emotions. Krishika says, "Viewers will connect with the characters as 'Happy Bhag Jayegi' showcases the local milieu and brings out flavours of real India. It highlights the intricacies of human emotions and will touch everyone's heart." Aanand adds, "The cross-border comedy explores relationships in a unique and beautiful way and that's what got us interested. Our movies have stories related to the common man and I hope people like this film too." Mudassar says, "It is Aanandji's and Krishika's initiative through their earlier movies that made me take this subject to them. They have backed the content with an appropriate cast as opposed to 'trade-fitting' it. That helped me to deliver this film."
