The Gujarat high court (HC) on Monday called police to take an advocate out of the court as he was arguing for a university even though the varsity authority had already hired another lawyer to run the case.

In the courtroom of Justice Mohinder Pal, advocate Y C Contractor on Monday appeared before him to argue in the case related to admission in BEd course in SNDT university.

As the HC asked him not to argue in the case which was handed over to another advocate Bhushan Oza by the university, Contractor insisted on arguing. After heated arguments, the judge called the HC security personnel and asked them to take him out of the court.

A senior advocate of the HC said, "During the last hearing, something had happened in the court with this lawyer and today also the advocate was sent out." "Y C Contractor is relieved from appearing in this case," the HC had said in the last order passed on September 7.
