Government: Visitors Banned To Take Pictures And Videos Of Parliament House


NEW DELHI: Visitors to Parliament House complex would from now on not have the power to take photos or shoot a video.An request to this impact has been acquired power through a recent circular.

In the circulation , Yogesh Deshmukh, Joint Secretary (Security), Parliament House, has said the complex is "one of the most threatened places" in the country.The order prohibits photography and shooting of videos in the complex by visitors, officers and staff of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariat, and allied agencies.Prohibiting photography and video recording is part of the "strategic security arrangements", he said.

He said officers and visitors permitted with mobile phones are also "strictly prohibited" from taking any type of photo or recording video inside the complex.

In July, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administrator Bhagwant Mann had set off a contention by posting a video on online networking of Parliament's security pickets and inward security positions.
