New Delhi: The administration has determined to put a limit on prices of 42 necessary medicines used in the treatment of a variety of critical and life-threatening diseases such as tuberculosis, cancer and cardiac diseases. As per cleverness, the upper limit prearranged by National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA ) would transport the price of these necessary drugs downward by almost 15 %. The NPPA, in its announcement, conveyed that it has permanent or revised maximum prices of 45 programmed formulations of Schedule-I beneath Drugs (Price Control) Amendment Order, 2016.
Out of the 45, the price of 42 medicines would come down by 15 %. The power has also permanent put on the market price of 12 formulations under DPCO, 2013. The administration fixes the prices of necessary drugs based on the simple standard of all medicines in a demanding therapeutic subdivision, having sales of more than 1 per cent. Set up in 1997, NPPA has been entrusted with the task of fixation/revision of prices of pharma products, enforcement of requirements of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order and monitoring of prices of controlled and decontrolled drugs.
