Government, Akshaya Patra sign MoU for gaushala upkeep


Jaipur: The department of urban development and housing and Akshaya Patra on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understating (MoU) for the better management of Hingonia Gaushala.

Under the terms of the agreement, Akshaya Patra will set up a separate trust which will also include the officials of animal husbandry department and Jaipur Municipal Corporation."Akshaya Patra will take care of the animal hospital and the clinic that is located inside the Gaushala. The MoU will be reviewed after six months. If we find that the operations of the Gaushala has improved, then we will extend the time limit of our agreement with Akshaya Patra," a senior official of JMC said.

Akashya Patra will also rope in independent experts to review the gaushala in after three months. "The JMC will give Rs 70 to Rs 35 to Akshaya Patra for every cattle which is brought to the Gaushala. Akshaya Patra will also provide fresh green fodder for the cattle and assist the civic body in managing every day affairs of the Gaushala," another official added.
