Mumbai : Shares of base firm Gammon India surged almost 9 for every penny today after the organization won a Rs 870-crore contract from NHAI for augmenting of a thruway in Karnataka.
Opening on a positive note, the stock increased 8.90 for each penny to settle at Rs 15.90 on BSE.
At NSE, shares of the organization bounced 8.84 for every penny to end the day at Rs 16.
On the volume front, 6.79 lakh offers changed hands on BSE and more than 31 lakh shares were exchanged on NSE.
The organization has been granted an "undertaking for four laning of Hospet-Bellary-Karnataka/AP Border" on NH 63 by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), it had said in a BSE documenting yesterday.
The 98-km venture has been honored under National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase-IVB on building, acquirement and development premise.
