A 17-year-old minor girl lodged a complaint with Khadakpada police in, Kalyan alleging that her friend raped her inside a ladies public toilet on platform number two of Kalyan railway station. However, the Kalyan GRP and RPF denied information about any such incident on station premises. Officials said they had checked CCTV footage but found no trace of the victim near the toilet on platform no.2.
The victim is a resident of Mumbra, who was in love with the 18-year-old Kalyan-based accused and wanted to marry him. The victim in her complaint alleged that last month, the accused asked her to come Kalyan station on August 27, where the accused took her inside the ladies public toilet and raped her.
Later, the accused took the victim to his residence in Tavripada area in Kalyan, where he allegedly forced her to have sex for 10 to 15 days, But he later refused to marry her.
Acting on the complaint, the police said they have registered a case of rape and under different sections of POCSO (Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and have began a hunt for the accused, who is now on the run.
Gulabrao Gore, senior inspector of Khadakpada police station said, "The GRP and RPF have checked CCTV footage but found nothing. We are yet to check the footage to come on any conclusion," Gore said. "We are also looking for the accused and we will be able to nab him very soon."
