Jaipur: Dholpur and Jaipur police in a joint operation arrested four people for kidnapping a 19-year-old youth from Jaipur and looting an SUV from a cabbie. The abducted youth was freed by the police within 24 hours after he was kidnapped and handed over to his family on Tuesday.
The accused were identified as Anil (21) Mukhram (24) Rishi (19) and Rajesh Gujar (24), all four are resident of Bharatpur district and were living in Jaipur for past several months.
On Monday morning the four youth had called Rohitash (27), a taxi driver to book a ride from Jaipur's Pratap Nagar to Karoli. "The booking was done for 10.30 AM. Rohitash arrived at a multi-story building near Pratap Nagar's Kumbha Marg. Anil asked Rohitash to come upstairs and assist him taking the heavy luggage downstairs," said Bhopal Singh, SHO, Pratap Nagar Police Station.
As soon as the cabbie entered the flat, the criminals overpowered Rohitash and held him captive inside their flat, they took his mobile phone, cash and keys of the white coloured Tavera taxi and ran away. Rohitash somehow managed to escape from the flat and informed the police.
Subsequently, the Jaipur police's control room received another complaint that at 4.30 PM a 19-year-old Vishal Sharma has been kidnapped by somebody.
Manish Agarwal (DCP South) directed Anil Jaiman, Mansarover SHO to follow the trail left behind the looted white Tavera taxi.
