Kashmir : Five service rifles were snaffled from the guards in South Kashmir on Sunday.
“Militants in military fatigues attacked guards at a Doordarshan transmitter station in Dalvash village of Anantnag district,” Police officials said.
Three SLR’s, one INSAS and one carbine rifle were stolen on Monday.
Since the killing the Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani on July 8, the violence is going on in the valley.
The speculations have rifed that many youths have joined the militants.
Police said, “Local militants were short of weapons for the new recruits and were targeting political workers with guards, police stations and pickets guarding the minority community.”
