Fire breaks out in south Mumbai building leads to cylinder blasts, no casualty


MUMBAI: A major fire broke out at South Mumbai's JK Somani building on Wednesday that leads to three LPG cylinder blasts. No casualty has been reported yet but the central part of the building has collapsed.

Just after the incident, around 20 fire brigades reached to the spot at 10 pm on Wednesday at three storied JK Somani building.

The building was engulfed in the flames, fire officials said.

"It being a commercial structure housing offices of advocates mostly not many were present within when the incident took place. While the ground floor of the building is intact the upper floors have been largely damaged, "official said.

The 2-3 LP cylinder blast occurred till the weekend hours of morning. Making things worse the central part of the building partially collapsed and cracks developed in the involved building.
