Fire At Andhra’s Tirumala Temple, No Casualties


Tirupathi : A fire broke out at the Tirumala temple in Andhra Pradesh early on Friday morning. creating panic among thousands of devotees who were queued up for darshan. The fire erupted in the ‘potu’ (kitchen) of the temple that is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, where the famous Tirupathi laddus are made. As cooks rushed out of the kitchens, two fire tenders were rushed to the spot to control the flames.

Reports said the initial investigations indicate the cause of the fire as overheating in the kitchen. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams executive officer visited the kitchen and took stock of the situation. The situation is under control and no casualties have been reported.
