New Delhi: The Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch o Monday lodged an FIR against the former Sheila Dikshit government and current Arvind Kejriwal government in the Rs 400 crore water tanker scam of the Delhi. The Anti-Corruption Branch chief MK Meena said that FIR is filed against the previous and present Delhi government.
According to sources, the FIR is lodged against the current AAP government for delaying the probe into the scam.
Meena said two complaints were acknowledged with regard to the scam and those named in the complaints include Dikshit and Kejriwal. He said both Dikshit and Kejriwal will be questioned.
He further added that an FIR has been registered under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act.
ACB is acting on the complaint filed by AAP Minister Kapil Mishra. Last week, LG Najeeb Jung forwarded a complaint by AAP against Dikshit to the ACB, over her alleged role in the water tanker scam. Dixit had claimed that the allegations are "politically motivated".
"We got a complaint from Kapil Mishra that they got an inquiry conducted and found out that the scam was during Sheila Dikshit government," said Meena.
Dikshit, last week, claimed that the decision to procure the water tanker was not "hers alone". She said a board comprising the Delhi Jal Board CEO, engineers and experts took the decision to procure them. "One BJP MLA and two municipal councillors were also part of the decision-making process," she had said.
