Mumbai : There is good news for Chiranjeevi fans, as Chiranjeevi come back soon to silver screen. After being away from the silver screen for nearly a decade, Megastar Chiranjeevi, who jumped into politics in 2008, has donned the grease paint and gone behind the arc lights once again, for his much-hyped 150th film. Chiranjeevi’s 150th film, which is tentatively titled Kathilantodu is the official remake of Tamil Super hit Kaththi, and it essentially deals with the issues of plaguing farmers.
This project has been widely speculated for the past three years, with Chiru himself teasing fans with strong indications of his return to cinema. Finally, the shooting for the project officially commenced on Thursday. VV Vinayak, who delivered the blockbuster ‘Tagore’ with Chiru, is wielding the megaphone, while Ram Charan is producing the yet-untitled-venture under Konidela Productions. “Today, we kickstarted our film shoot. We are canning a few entertainment scenes with Chiranjeevi and Ali.
The first schedule will take place in and around Hyderabad till July 12. Top actors and technicians are roped in for this film and we will release the first look teaser very soon,” VV Vinayak said, excitedly. One of the most widely debated subjects surrounding this high-profile project has been its director. Earlier, Puri Jagannadh was announced as the director for Chiru’s comeback project but the megastar was unsatisfied with the script presented by Puri, who was then unceremoniously shunted out of the project. Later, Vinayak was roped in as the director for this much coveted project and a script was finalised and, more importantly, approved by the megastar.
“I am very happy that I have got this opportunity to work with megastar Chiranjeevi once again after ‘Tagore’. As this is his 150th film, we are leaving no stone unturned to make sure this film meets the fans’ expectations. The film will have all the ingredients that will appeal to the fans,” Vinayak shared. Earlier, the Chiranjeevi camp had revealed that the megastar’s landmark project will be the remake of last year’s Tamil film ‘Kaththi’. However, Chiru later changed his mind and asked the director to prepare a fresh script. Film's story came out very well and everyone appreciated it. Chiranjeevi garu and his family were excited after hearing the final output. We will announce the movie’s title soon,” Vinayak added. As fans rejoice the return of their evergreen superstar, we hope that his return will be well worth the wait.
