FCA in India has launched the Jeep Grand Cherokee petrol at Rs 75.15 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi). The new petrol version is accessible in two colors – velvet red and diamond black crystal, in addition to prevailing shades of billet silver metallic, bright white, granite crystal pearl and true blue pearl.
The new petrol variant attains a 3.6-litre Pentastar engine that generates 286bhp of power and 347Nm of torque. This powerful engine reaches mated to an eight-speed paddle shift automatic transmission. The ‘Gen II’ automatic transmission asserted to proffer optimized lubrication which has assisted enhanced clutch durability, shift response and reliability that permits smoother downshifts.
The diesel variant of the Grand Cherokee will also attain the Gen II 8-speed paddle shift transmission. In the words of electronics, the Jeep attains electro-hydraulic power steering system as a replacement to the electric power steering (EPS) to proffer enhanced handling.
Moreover, it also offers three select modes – Normal, Comfort and Sport. The Jeep Grand Cherokee also attains ParkSense’ – a rear park help system along with a Start / Stop function.
If we talk about design, the vehicle attains LED fog lamps and a special fascia with improved ‘billet-like’ plating on the grille slots as part of the Grand Cherokee package to mark its 75th anniversary. The vehicle also attains new 20-inch alloys in refined aluminum with technical grey painted pockets as standard.
