A social Networking giant Facebook has taken decision to provide free Wi-Fi services to Indians in Indian Railway Station. After a lot of criticism, the social media giant now aims to bring free Wi-Fi to Indian Railways.
This decision has been confirmed by R K Bahuguna, chairman and managing director of RailTel, communications which stated that, “Facbook and Indian Railways were working to bring free Wi-Fi to stations across the country.”
A deal had already been signed by Indian Railways with Google to provide WiFi in around 19 stations. By the year end, Google will provide Wi-Fi services to atleast 100 stations.
Now, Facebook has taken this decision after Google to provide internet connectivity through drones.
"Facebook India has approached us for the Wi-Fi initiative. We will engage with the company for the expansion of our internet access programme across railways stations to cover villages in the vicinity," said Bahuguna.
