Ex-airhostess and mafia moll arrested in Kolkata by Andhra police


VIJAYAWADA: A former airhostess of a mafia king of a global red sanders smuggling gang was detained on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday, Sangeeta Chatterjee, 27 was detained by police for about two years. Andhra Pradesh police arrested her from Kolkata home and later was brought to Chittoor.

Since April 2016, she was involved in the case. In Chittoor district, Sangeeta was produced before the Pakala local court and later sent for 14-day judicial custody.

The sources said that police have been continuously checking Sangeeta’s actions ever since her lover, Markondan Lakshmanan, 38, was detained in 2014 by Chittoor police.

Lakshmanan shot to reputation after he assembled Rs 100 crore realm by carrying and offering red sanders logs over the globe.
