Environment ministers to attend BRICS summit in Goa on September 16


In the BRICS Summit, environment ministers from different countries will attend Summit in Goa on September 16 to brace mutual teamwork in areas of air and water pollution and climate change.

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Anil Madhav Daveb will also be a part of the meeting.

During the meeting, the ministers will talk about how to cooperate in areas of air and water pollution, liquid and solid waste management, climate change and conservation of biodiversity.The meeting will be organized by various Central government ministries including Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.

In the meeting, the importance of landmark global environmental agreements like Addis Ababa Action Agenda on Financing for Development, Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement will be discussed.
