Walmart Stores Inc on Friday said it will quit offering Egyptian cotton sheets made by Welspun India after the Indian maker was not able guarantee them the items were bona fide.
A month ago, US retailer Target Corp separated ties with Welspun subsequent to blaming them for going off modest sheets as premium Egyptian cotton for a long time.
"Welspun has not possessed the capacity to guarantee us the items are 100% Egyptian cotton, which is inadmissible," Walmart said in an announcement. The organization will pull the items from its stores and site.
Walmart said it won't cut ties with Welspun yet will work with them to execute solid controls and better mark the items. The retailer will offer clients, who bought the items, a full discount.
Egyptian cotton is prized on the grounds that the length of the cotton strands are longer, bringing about a better, lighter more strong fabric and more enduring, higher-end apparel.
