ED registers money laundering case against Bhupinder Singh Hooda

Haryana: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday registered a case against former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the Associated Journal Limited under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in a disproportionate land allotment case.

The central probe agency has registered a criminal case under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act after taking cognisance of a Haryana State Vigilance Bureau FIR of May this year, according to media reports.

The case was registered for cheating and corruption against Hooda and four officials who were allegedly re-alloting a plot to AJL in Panchkula in 2005. Meanwhile, the former Haryana CM has termed the action as "political vendetta" adding that there was no wrong doing.
