A nine-year-old kid was killed on Friday after his bicycle was professedly hit by an car driven by a DU associate educator, police said.
Nitesh, a Class VIth understudy, was riding his bike on Najafgarh street when he was hit by the auto driven by Anupama, the associate teacher at Delhi University’s Bhagini Nivedita College, close BDO office at around 1 PM on August 3, said a senior cop.
She surged the kid first to a private healing facility and later to Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital in Jaffarpur where the kid succumbed to his wounds amid treatment, he said.
The teacher later surrendered herself before the police and a FIR under areas 279 (rash driving) and 304 A (bringing on death by carelessness) of the IPC was held up at the Chhawla police headquarters. Anupama was arrested and later given safeguard at the police headquarters, said the officer.
An observer asserted that the charged driver was on telephone when her auto hit the kid on the bicycle, notwithstanding, police said that they are researching the matter with all points.
The kid lived with his family at Roshanpura and his dad Mukesh filled in as a worker, police said.
