Wildlife rescue worker offering water to the serpent in a container. The 12-foot-long snake evidently strayed into the town searching for water. Natural life authorities say the dry spell, which has influenced a few sections of southern India, has left wild creatures in the district dried out. The snake was later taken to an animal care facility.
