23-yr-old Austrian tennis shuttler Dominic Thiem and Japan’s Kei Nishikori reaches to third round of the Washington Open tennis championship on Wednesday.
Austrian shuttler playing his initial ATP World Tour as top seed crushed Swiss player Henri Laaksonen 6-3, 6-3 in 63 minutes. The match delayed by rain, Dominic Thiem loose just one point and from that he not given any chance to his rival to break points. Thiem is set to play against the Kevin Anderson.
No. 2 seed Japanese player Kei Nishikori, crushed United States’ Donald Young 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(5). 27-yrold Japanese player Nishikori missed numerous match points in the third set, counting two in the tie break, prior to he sealed the victory following two hours and 28 minutes.
Nishikori, set to play against the three-time champion Argentine Juan Martin del Potro, who attain his 15th straight victory in the championship at the cost of Slovak Lukas Lacko 7-5, 6-2.
