DMK March In Delhi For Womens Reservation Bill

On Monday, Led by its Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi, the DMK staged a protest march in the national capital seeking early passage of the Womens Reservation Bill. The Bill proposes 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and all state legislative assemblies.

“It remains a bewilder with reference to why the Women’s Reservation Bill has not been passed. It has been 20 years, why it has not turned into a law?” Kanimozhi told media people.

“We need to bring the emphasis back on the Bill since no one is discussing it, not even the media,” she said.

“We approach all similarly invested parties who bolster the Bill, to join our endeavors,” she said clarifying the walk she was driving from Mandi House to Jantar Mantar.

Earlier on March 17, DMK Working President MK Stalin wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging his intervention for the passage of the Bill.
